Japanese Anemone 461/2"x55" Graphite and Colored Pencil

When I first began drawing this flower I was focused on using graphite only...but...part way through I decided to color the center of the flower . The center circular flower head and its'  ( arching outward ) stamens are generating a lot of energy and movement and power and I wanted to emphasize that by infusing the center with color .
